The Linux Kernel, the operating system core itself.
Security Fix(es):
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: act_ct: fix ref leak when switching zones
When switching zones or network namespaces without doing a ct clear in between, it is now leaking a reference to the old ct entry. That's because tcf_ct_skb_nfct_cached() returns false and tcf_ct_flow_table_lookup() may simply overwrite it.
The fix is to, as the ct entry is not reusable, free it already at tcf_ct_skb_nfct_cached().(CVE-2022-49183)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: annotate races around sk->sk_bound_dev_if
UDP sendmsg() is lockless, and reads sk->sk_bound_dev_if while this field can be changed by another thread.
Adds minimal annotations to avoid KCSAN splats for UDP. Following patches will add more annotations to potential lockless readers.

A flaw was found within the parsing of extended attributes in the kernel ksmbd module. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Linux. Only systems with ksmbd enabled are vulnerable to this CVE.(CVE-2023-4458)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/dp_mst: Ensure mst_primary pointer is valid in drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req()
While receiving an MST up request message from one thread in drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req(), the MST topology could be removed from another thread via drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst(false), freeing mst_primary and setting drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr::mst_primary to NULL. This could lead to a NULL deref/use-after-free of mst_primary in drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req().
Avoid the above by holding a reference for mst_primary in drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req() while it's used.
v2: Fix kfreeing the request if getting an mst_primary reference fails.(CVE-2024-57798)

Haowei Yan <(CVE-2025-21692)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: sched: Disallow replacing of child qdisc from one parent to another
Lion Ackermann was able to create a UAF which can be abused for privilege escalation with the following script
Step 1. create root qdisc tc qdisc add dev lo root handle 1:0 drr
step2. a class for packet aggregation do demonstrate uaf tc class add dev lo classid 1:1 drr
step3. a class for nesting tc class add dev lo classid 1:2 drr
step4. a class to graft qdisc to tc class add dev lo classid 1:3 drr
step5. tc qdisc add dev lo parent 1:1 handle 2:0 plug limit 1024
step6. tc qdisc add dev lo parent 1:2 handle 3:0 drr
step7. tc class add dev lo classid 3:1 drr
step 8. tc qdisc add dev lo parent 3:1 handle 4:0 pfifo
step 9. Display the class/qdisc layout
tc class ls dev lo class drr 1:1 root leaf 2: quantum 64Kb class drr 1:2 root leaf 3: quantum 64Kb class drr 3:1 root leaf 4: quantum 64Kb
tc qdisc ls qdisc drr 1: dev lo root refcnt 2 qdisc plug 2: dev lo parent 1:1 qdisc pfifo 4: dev lo parent 3:1 limit 1000p qdisc drr 3: dev lo parent 1:2
step10. trigger the bug <=== prevented by this patch tc qdisc replace dev lo parent 1:3 handle 4:0
step 11. Redisplay again the qdiscs/classes
tc class ls dev lo class drr 1:1 root leaf 2: quantum 64Kb class drr 1:2 root leaf 3: quantum 64Kb class drr 1:3 root leaf 4: quantum 64Kb class drr 3:1 root leaf 4: quantum 64Kb
tc qdisc ls qdisc drr 1: dev lo root refcnt 2 qdisc plug 2: dev lo parent 1:1 qdisc pfifo 4: dev lo parent 3:1 refcnt 2 limit 1000p qdisc drr 3: dev lo parent 1:2
Observe that a) parent for 4:0 does not change despite the replace request. There can only be one parent. b) refcount has gone up by two for 4:0 and c) both class 1:3 and 3:1 are pointing to it.
Step 12. send one packet to plug echo "" | socat -u STDIN UDP4-DATAGRAM:127.0.0.1:8888,priority=$((0x10001)) step13. send one packet to the grafted fifo echo "" | socat -u STDIN UDP4-DATAGRAM:127.0.0.1:8888,priority=$((0x10003))
step14. lets trigger the uaf tc class delete dev lo classid 1:3 tc class delete dev lo classid 1:1
The semantics of "replace" is for a del/add on the same node and not a delete from one node(3:1) and add to another node (1:3) as in step10. While we could "fix" with a more complex approach there could be consequences to expectations so the patch takes the preventive approach of "disallow such config".
Joint work with Lion Ackermann <(CVE-2025-21700)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pfifo_tail_enqueue: Drop new packet when sch->limit == 0
Expected behaviour:
In case we reach scheduler's limit, pfifo_tail_enqueue() will drop a
packet in scheduler's queue and decrease scheduler's qlen by one.
Then, pfifo_tail_enqueue() enqueue new packet and increase
scheduler's qlen by one. Finally, pfifo_tail_enqueue() return
NET_XMIT_CN status code.
Weird behaviour:
In case we set sch->limit == 0 and trigger pfifo_tail_enqueue() on a
scheduler that has no packet, the 'drop a packet' step will do nothing.
This means the scheduler's qlen still has value equal 0.
Then, we continue to enqueue new packet and increase scheduler's qlen by
one. In summary, we can leverage pfifo_tail_enqueue() to increase qlen by
one and return NET_XMIT_CN status code.
The problem is: Let's say we have two qdiscs: Qdisc_A and Qdisc_B.
hfsc. Enqueue packet to this qdisc will trigger hfsc_enqueue.pfifo_tail_enqueue.sch->limit == 0.Enqueue packet through Qdisc_A will lead to:
NET_XMIT_CNNET_XMIT_SUCCESS and see NET_XMIT_CN => hfsc_enqueue() don't increase qlen of Qdisc_A.The whole process lead to a situation where Qdisc_A->q.qlen == 0 and Qdisc_B->q.qlen == 1. Replace 'hfsc' with other type (for example: 'drr') still lead to the same problem. This violate the design where parent's qlen should equal to the sum of its childrens'qlen.
Bug impact: This issue can be used for user->kernel privilege escalation when it is reachable.(CVE-2025-21702)

After commit 2def2845cc33 ("xfs: don't allow log IO to be throttled"), the metadata submitted by xlog_write_iclog() should not be throttled. But due to the existence of the dm layer, throttling flush_bio indirectly causes the metadata bio to be throttled.
Fix this by conditionally adding REQ_IDLE to flush_bio.bi_opf, which makes wbt_should_throttle() return false to avoid wbt_wait().(CVE-2025-38063)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
calipso: Fix null-ptr-deref in calipso_req_{set,del}attr().
syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in sock_omalloc() while allocating a CALIPSO option. [0]
The NULL is of struct sock, which was fetched by sk_to_full_sk() in calipso_req_setattr().
Since commit a1a5344ddbe8 ("tcp: avoid two atomic ops for syncookies"), reqsk->rsk_listener could be NULL when SYN Cookie is returned to its client, as hinted by the leading SYN Cookie log.
Here are 3 options to fix the bug:
Return 0 in calipso_req_setattr()
Return an error in calipso_req_setattr()
Alaways set rsk_listener
is no go as it bypasses LSM, but 2) effectively disables SYN Cookie for CALIPSO. 3) is also no go as there have been many efforts to reduce atomic ops and make TCP robust against DDoS. See also commit 3b24d854cb35 ("tcp/dccp: do not touch listener sk_refcnt under synflood").
As of the blamed commit, SYN Cookie already did not need refcounting, and no one has stumbled on the bug for 9 years, so no CALIPSO user will care about SYN Cookie.
Let's return an error in calipso_req_setattr() and calipso_req_delattr() in the SYN Cookie case.
This can be reproduced by [1] on Fedora and now connect() of nc times out.

ext4: inline: fix len overflow in ext4_prepare_inline_data
When running the following code on an ext4 filesystem with inline_data feature enabled, it will lead to the bug below.
fd = open("file1", O_RDWR | O_CREAT | O_TRUNC, 0666);
ftruncate(fd, 30);
pwrite(fd, "a", 1, (1UL << 40) + 5UL);
That happens because write_begin will succeed as when ext4_generic_write_inline_data calls ext4_prepare_inline_data, pos + len will be truncated, leading to ext4_prepare_inline_data parameter to be 6 instead of 0x10000000006.
Then, later when write_end is called, we hit:
BUG_ON(pos + len > EXT4_I(inode)->i_inline_size);
at ext4_write_inline_data.
Fix it by using a loff_t type for the len parameter in ext4_prepare_inline_data instead of an unsigned int.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: lpfc: Use memcpy() for BIOS version
The strlcat() with FORTIFY support is triggering a panic because it thinks the target buffer will overflow although the correct target buffer size is passed in.
Anyway, instead of memset() with 0 followed by a strlcat(), just use memcpy() and ensure that the resulting buffer is NULL terminated.
BIOSVersion is only used for the lpfc_printf_log() which expects a properly terminated string.(CVE-2025-38332)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Add null pointer check for get_first_active_display()
The function mod_hdcp_hdcp1_enable_encryption() calls the function get_first_active_display(), but does not check its return value. The return value is a null pointer if the display list is empty. This will lead to a null pointer dereference in mod_hdcp_hdcp2_enable_encryption().
Add a null pointer check for get_first_active_display() and return MOD_HDCP_STATUS_DISPLAY_NOT_FOUND if the function return null.(CVE-2025-38362)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/v3d: Disable interrupts before resetting the GPU
Currently, an interrupt can be triggered during a GPU reset, which can lead to GPU hangs and NULL pointer dereference in an interrupt context as shown in the following trace:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ACPICA: Refuse to evaluate a method if arguments are missing
As reported in [1], a platform firmware update that increased the number of method parameters and forgot to update a least one of its callers, caused ACPICA to crash due to use-after-free.
Since this a result of a clear AML issue that arguably cannot be fixed up by the interpreter (it cannot produce missing data out of thin air), address it by making ACPICA refuse to evaluate a method if the caller attempts to pass fewer arguments than expected to it.(CVE-2025-38386)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfs: Clean up /proc/net/rpc/nfs when nfs_fs_proc_net_init() fails.
syzbot reported a warning below [1] following a fault injection in nfs_fs_proc_net_init(). [0]
When nfs_fs_proc_net_init() fails, /proc/net/rpc/nfs is not removed.
Later, rpc_proc_exit() tries to remove /proc/net/rpc, and the warning is logged as the directory is not empty.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf: Fix sample vs do_exit()
Baisheng Gao reported an ARM64 crash, which Mark decoded as being a synchronous external abort -- most likely due to trying to access MMIO in bad ways.
The crash further shows perf trying to do a user stack sample while in exit_mmap()'s tlb_finish_mmu() -- i.e. while tearing down the address space it is trying to access.
It turns out that we stop perf after we tear down the userspace mm; a receipie for disaster, since perf likes to access userspace for various reasons.
Flip this order by moving up where we stop perf in do_exit().
Additionally, harden PERF_SAMPLE_CALLCHAIN and PERF_SAMPLE_STACK_USER to abort when the current task does not have an mm (exit_mm() makes sure to set current->mm = NULL; before commencing with the actual teardown). Such that CPU wide events don't trip on this same problem.(CVE-2025-38424)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Set DMA unmap len correctly for XDP_REDIRECT
When transmitting an XDP_REDIRECT packet, call dma_unmap_len_set() with the proper length instead of 0. This bug triggers this warning on a system with IOMMU enabled:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: net: sierra: check for no status endpoint
The driver checks for having three endpoints and having bulk in and out endpoints, but not that the third endpoint is interrupt input. Rectify the omission.(CVE-2025-38474)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
do_change_type(): refuse to operate on unmounted/not ours mounts
Ensure that propagation settings can only be changed for mounts located in the caller's mount namespace. This change aligns permission checking with the rest of mount(2).(CVE-2025-38498)
